01

What is physiotherapy?

Physiotherapy assesses movement and function when pain, restriction or difficulty affects daily life. Health history, work, sport and personal goals are considered together. Exercise, education, activity planning and suitable hands-on techniques may then be combined in an individual plan. The aim is to support confident movement, participation and self-management rather than apply the same programme to everyone.

02

How do manual therapy and exercise work together?

Manual therapy includes hands-on techniques selected after assessment. Exercise develops capacities such as strength, control, balance and endurance. They can complement one another: hands-on care may help movement in the short term, while active work helps carry progress into daily life. Selection and dosage depend on findings, tolerance and goals.

03

How is a safe return to sport planned?

Return to sport considers more than pain. Mobility, strength, speed, balance, coordination and load tolerance are progressed with graded exercise and sport-specific tasks. Functional testing, training response and confidence help guide the decision so the athlete can return sustainably.
